Wood is our most valuable resource. We manufacture a wide range of products for furniture and interior design, flooring and wood construction from nature’s renewable resource. We strive to act sustainably, conserve resources and protect the climate. Our EcoFacts clearly illustrate how far we have come in implementing this basic attitude. Wood-based materials are climate-friendly.
CO2 footprint
Every product leaves a trace on the climate. The carbon footprint can be used to quantify how large these traces are. The raw material wood absorbs CO2 during its growth and stores it. CO2 is emitted during transport and processing. When these values are compared, the result is the products carbon footprint. For ourwood-based products, this value is very low. If more CO2 is bound in the product than is emitted during transport and processing, the carbon footprint is negative.
The EcoFact corresponds to CO2 equivalent GWP total cradle-to-gate (A1-A3 according to EN 15804). The calculation is externally verified (see EPD).
Wood-based materials grow back.
Proportion of renewable resources
Wood grows back in a few decades. Fossil raw materials take millions of years to develop. It is therefore important to use more renewable resources. This EcoFact shows how much of the material used to manufacture the product comes from renewable resources (wood, paper) and how much from fossil resources (glue, wax, resin). In this way, we transparently indicate for each product the contribution it makes to the bioeconomy.
The EcoFact refers to all ingredients of a product by weight. It is based on an internal calculation.
We conserve natural resources.
Proportion of wood from the circular economy
To conserve natural resources, we must reuse, recycle and recover existing products in the best possible way. This EcoFact shows how well this works in practice. It presents the wood used in a product by category: Recycled materials (e.g. old furniture, pallets or pieces of pallets) and by-products from the sawmill industry (e.g. hackchips, sawdust) contribute to the circular economy. The remaining wood content comes from sustainable forest management, such as thinning, non-sawable roundwood or forest chips.

Recyclability
Wood-based materials are high-quality and can last for many years. They are also a valuable resource at the end of the product life: Many products can be materially recycled and thus become a high-quality board material again.
This EcoFact specifies whether a product can be used for the production of new wood-based materials at the end of its product life. The decisive factor for the classification is that we ourselves use the material without restriction in the production of chipboard and that it is recommended for material recycling in the ÖWAV guide to waste wood sorting.

Wood proportion from verified and certified sources
We are committed to promoting sustainable forestry and conserving natural resources.As part of our due diligence system certified according to ISO 38200, we ensure compliance with legal and social standards in our supply chains. Our products can thus be designated as 100% third-party verified according to ISO 38200 and fulfil all legal requirements for the sustainability of the wood used. In addition, this EcoFact also specifies the proportion from certified forests in the product as ISO 38200 certified.

Full transparency for our products
We make public all ingredients that are used in our products. There are two different document formats for this: EPDs ("Environmental Product Declarations") that also make the life cycle assessment of our products transparent and EHDs ("Environmental and Health Datasheets").
