Our Group Management
The Group Management is responsible for the operational business of the EGGER Group and is the top management body. Its goal is to increase the value of the EGGER Group and to successfully manage the family business for generations to come. It consists of Thomas Leissing, Frank Bölling, Michael Egger Jr. and Hannes Mitterweissacher (from left to right).
Thomas Leissing, Chief Financial Officer
Thomas Leissing has been a member of the EGGER Group Management since 2005. He is in charge of Finance and Administration and has acted as the Speaker of the Group Management since 2009. Prior to joining EGGER, he worked for a listed international industrial company in the corporate finance division.
Frank Bölling, Chief Supply Chain Officer
Frank Bölling has been a member of Group Management since 2022 and is in charge of Logistics. He has been with the EGGER Group since 2019 and has previously held the position of Division Director Logistics EGGER Decorative Products East. Prior to that, he held senior positions in the areas of logistics and supply chain management in various industrial sectors.
Michael Egger Jr., Chief Sales Officer
Michael Egger Jr. has been a member of Group Management since 2022 and is in charge of Sales and Marketing. Prior to this, he gained extensive experience in this field at EGGER and with a renowned international hardware manufacturer. As the grandson of the company's founder, he is the third generation to run the family business.
Hannes Mitterweissacher, Chief Technology Officer
Hannes Mitterweissacher has been in charge of Technology and Production as a member of Group Management since 2022. He has been with EGGER since 1992 in various technical and production positions and most recently, in the position of Division Director Technical/Production EGGER Decorative Products Central.
Our History
From a Tirolean raw chipboard producer with 28 employees to a globally successful full-range supplier in the wood industry with more than 20,000 hands on deck. Our history begins in 1961 and is characterised by constant growth, a high standard of sustainability, innovative ideas and production practices that are always at the cutting edge of technology.
The founding
For our founder Fritz Egger Sr., wood was far too valuable to simply throw it away. That is why in 1961 he set up the first chipboard plant under the name EGGER.
The first decorative faced board
In 1971, we refined chipboard for the first time to create premium chipboards – our door opener to the international market.
The first board made in continuous production
Starting in 1988, the new Contiroll press in St. Johann is able to produce chipboard continuously, doubling the daily output. Today, we rely on this advanced technology in our plants worldwide.
The expansion
Since the 1990s in particular, everything has been pointing towards growth in Europe. Today, we are represented worldwide with our plants, sales offices and employees.
Environmentally friendly energy generation
We have always taken responsibility for the environment. We have been generating our own renewable energy from biomass since 1991.
The full-range supplier
With laminate flooring, OSB and timber, we conquered new markets and customer groups at the turn of the millennium. Building with wood also characterises our own company architecture.
The "light" innovation
Our Eurolight Lightweight board was developed in 2007 from an innovative idea originating with employees. Its cardboard honeycomb core makes it very light and resource-conserving.
The automation of processes
The high-bay warehouse at our new plant in Rambervillers (FR) illustrates in 2000 the potential of automated processes. Today, we rely on automation and digitalisation throughout the production process at all our plants.
