Our approach to responsible business practices
As early as 1961, company founder Fritz Egger Sr. believed that wood was far too valuable to simply throw it away. He laid the foundations for our business by processing wood waste residues into high-quality new products.
Today, sustainability aspects are embedded in our company strategy. At its core is the use of the valuable resource wood. We clearly advocate the cascading use of wood and aim to help keep wood in cycles that are as closed as possible and use it repeatedly.
We pursue defined sustainability goals in the areas of economic, ecological and social responsibility. We are guided by transparent facts and our aspiration to keep improving.

Our contribution
Climate Action
We are committed to Net Zero by 2050. Our goal is to gradually reduce our Group-wide carbon footprint towards Net Zero by 2050. EGGER's way to Net Zero is guided by clear interim goals and corresponding measures.
Sustainable forestry
The valuable resource wood regrows and absorbs CO2 as it grows. In the process, carbon is stored in the wood. This means that the material use of wood offers opportunities for climate action. The sustainable management of forests is of essential importance. We support the principles of sustainable forestry. Our wood purchase follows defined principles and we apply our Due Diligence System.
Circular economy
Working in cycles that are as closed as possible lies at the heart of our business model. We use sawmill by-products and recycled wood in the production of new, high-quality wood-based materials. This enables us to use wood multiple times. In future, we aim to further increase the proportion of recycled wood in our particleboard production.
Good jobs
Our employees are the most valuable part of our family business. We want to be the best employer in our respective region. We are driven by the development opportunities of our employees, their satisfaction and, above all, their health and safety.
Industrial responsibility
We rely on modern technologies to continuously develop our production processes. To this end, we continuously invest in our plants. Our aim is to use state-of-the-art production technology.
Product Transparency
We want to present the environmental impact of our products transparently. We stand for reliable and transparent product information and expert advice. We provide specific document formats that present key information on the environmental impact of our products. This enables us to support our customers in making informed decisions in a targeted way.
