The Build to Rent Room
Q1 of 2022 saw a record £1.6bn invested into the UK build-to-rent market, a £400m increase on the same period in 2021.

The high numbers are matched by high activity. The UK pipeline of 106,400 planned homes adds to 46,000 units currently under construction. Combined, those figures more than double the 72,700 homes in the UK’s BtR portfolio so far.* By any standards, it’s big business.

BtR is a game of opposing halves. For developers and investors, lean costs and project efficiency are vital. Both parties require units to be delivered profitably, at pace, and without interruption to the supply chain.

For consumers, BtR is commonly about luxury. In interiors, high end design schemes reflect the sense of refined living that developments aim to offer.

For one, in EGGER’s cutting edge reproduction materials. Readily available via an integrated UK distribution network, our core materials come with low lead times, and sheet and pack sizes optimised for fast and efficient fabrication.

Cutting edge reproduction

EGGER’s continuous investment in production technology means that our reproduction decors are more realistic than ever before.

Developments in print and texture allow us to create finishes that are barely distinguishable from the real material in application, and at the same time offer significant cuts to project costs.

An average UK BtR unit uses 5.6 sheets of MFC to fit kitchen units, wardrobe doors and bathroom vanities. That allows for fabrication for 5 units from a single pack, for efficient production.
