Few things say luxury residential like an impeccably designed kitchen.
Recent years have seen trend shifts in the UK kitchen market, one feature of which is unit door format. Handleless, slab designs have grown in popularity, and can epitomise high-end kitchen design.
The beauty of the slab door is its simplicity. From a design perspective, its understated form is effortlessly sophisticated.
From a fabrication perspective, it is four clean cuts and an edge bander – when done in EGGER board materials. Fast, efficient, simple. Perfect for volume.
Sheet Optimisation
What about costs?
Feelwood MFC doors offer a cost effecive alternative to timber doors, at around 1/3 of the material costs.
PerfectSense Premium and Texture boards offer cost-saving alternatives to polished stones, marbles, and glass facades, which also require costly specialist fittings and fabrication.
With availability from our UK distributors, project fabricators can cut slab doors in-house, avoiding long lead times, high MOQs and additional charges from imported alternatives.
Watch our sheet optimisation video to see how we are able to get the most out of our materials and minimise wastage.
EGGER board materials are manufactured in a sheet size of 2800 × 2070 mm, optimised for cabinets and doors.
One sheet provides between 8 and 11 unit doors, depending on the chosen decor orientation. (Based on dimensions 715 × 596 mm)
Off cuts are then optimally sized for plinths, accent panels, or shallow upper unit doors. This specifically chosen sheet size allows for whole use of the board and minimal to no wastage.
