Set in the historic town of Cisnădie, Romania, the interior of Casa Măgura was developed using a deliberately restrained palette of EGGER Decorative Boards, Edging, and Laminates in H3325 ST28 Tobacco Gladstone Oak and U999 ST12 Black – shaping an identity that sits comfortably within the character of the building.
The design preserves the original spirit of the space, with areas of exposed brickwork offering a tactile, locally rooted backdrop. Subtle references to regional craft introduce further depth: mosaic reinterpretations of folkloric motifs, expressive wallcoverings and bespoke rope elements handmade by a local artisan. Accents of blue, burgundy and soft golden lighting enrich the atmosphere, while the oak décor provides a warm, cohesive foundation.
H3325 ST28 Tobacco Gladstone Oak is used consistently throughout—from wall cladding and banquette seating to tables and joinery—establishing a unified visual language. In contrast, U999 ST12 Black appears selectively on tables and cabinetry, adding clarity and structure. Rather than competing with the woodgrain, it frames and elevates it.
The EGGER surfaces were selected for their ease of maintenance and dependable performance in a busy hospitality environment.
Here, “two decors, one identity” becomes a purposeful design approach. The restrained palette strengthens the restaurant’s character, resulting in an interior that feels intentional, grounded and closely connected to its setting.
