This private project in Saalfelden, Austria, demonstrates how wall panels can be transformed into a defining design feature for the entire living space. The digitally printed OSB wall cladding, EGGER DecoWall, is applied in a deliberately versatile way, extending far beyond its traditional function.
At the heart of the room concept is a TV back panel made from EGGER DecoWall in the decor Natural Namur Spruce, DO001. The wood reproduction adds warmth to the space, bridging modern interior design with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Thanks to the high dimensional stability of the DecoWall panels, TV units can be mounted safely, while cables and connections remain discreetly concealed behind the panels for a clean, uncluttered look. Precisely mitered corners and subtle indirect wall lighting highlight the back panel as a striking focal point.
The DecoWall material is echoed behind the sofa, where previously unused space is transformed into an additional shelving area that integrates harmoniously into the overall design.
The room concept is completed with stackable storage boxes for firewood. Combining an OSB base with a decorative surface, the boxes offer both durability and a premium aesthetic. During the colder months, firewood is not only stored conveniently within the living space but also intentionally presented as a design feature.
The project demonstrates that EGGER DecoWall is far more than a traditional wall cladding. It merges aesthetic design with practical functionality, opening up countless possibilities for creating personalized, versatile interiors.
