This Bucharest apartment renovation demonstrates how creativity and EGGER materials can transform interiors into stylish, functional spaces. The standout feature? Slatted panels—executed in a simple yet ingenious way—bringing a modern, architectural touch throughout the apartment.
The designer sought to introduce the elegance of slatted panels, often associated with complex milling processes. Instead of following the traditional route, they chose an accessible approach: narrow strips, 25–30 mm wide, cut from EGGER decorative boards and mounted on matching wall panels. Small gaps of 10–15 mm between strips created a clean, rhythmic design—bespoke in appearance yet achievable without specialised tools.
For the bedroom and living areas, H3710 ST12 Natural Carini Walnut was the designer’s primary choice. Its authentic woodgrain and warm tone bring depth and elegance to wall panelling and furniture, including a freestanding TV cabinet, dressing table and wine cupboard. To balance this warmth and create a sleek, contemporary contrast, U963 ST9 Diamond Grey was chosen for wardrobe fronts and illuminated shelves.
In the kitchen, PerfectSense Matt Lacquered Particleboards in H3180 TM37 Brown Halifax Oak, featuring the TM37 PerfectSense Feelwood Rift Matt surface, delivers understated elegance. The matt finish enhances the natural woodgrain with visible cracks and refined texture. Paired with a natural stone worktop, the result is a space that feels both timeless and contemporary.
Through the smart use of colour, texture, and proportion, the apartment now radiates comfort, sophistication, and enduring appeal — with every detail quietly speaking of quality.
