At our St Albans site , Timberpak Pearce operates a well-established recycling facility, currently processing around 50,000 tonnes of recycled wood each year. We are continually seeking new wood inputs to grow this operation and strengthen long-term supply.

Alongside our wood recycling operation at the St Albans site, we operate a modern Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) with the capacity to process up to 120,000 tonnes of dry mixed recyclables per annum.

The facility primarily serves local authority and commercial contracts across Hertfordshire and the wider region, while also regularly accepting material from further afield.

Materials received at the MRF are processed using advanced sorting technology to segregate them into high-quality recyclable outputs. These materials are marketed to both UK and international reprocessors and prepared to meet stringent quality specifications for onward recycling.

Recovered materials include paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, aluminium, and steel, supporting the efficient recovery of valuable resources and the wider circular economy.

Timberpak Pearce delivers reliable, scalable recycling solutions that support carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and the development of a strong local circular economy.

Timberpak Pearce was formed in 2023 through the merger of Timberpak and Pearce Recycling Company, bringing together two businesses with a strong track record in recycling and resource recovery.

Built on Pearce Recycling’s 150-year heritage and several years of successful collaboration in waste wood processing, the merger created a business well-positioned to support long-term, sustainable growth.

Now part of the EGGER Group, Timberpak Pearce plays an active role in the circular economy, helping to turn recyclable materials into valuable resources for UK manufacturing. The recycled wood it sources goes to EGGER (UK) Ltd, and is used to make chipboard products.
