Timberpak’s Washington management team is proud to present Ryan McKenna with his certificate of achievement and recognition for the successful completion of his Waste Resource Operative Apprenticeship.

Over the last 18 months, Ryan has studied waste, environmental, and health and safety legislation. Before passing his apprenticeship, Ryan had to demonstrate a good standard of knowledge in the following subjects: documenting and detailing learning, waste operations, and how Timberpak adheres to and complies with industry regulations.

Ryan successfully passed all three elements of the examination with two grades of distinction and narrowly missed out on a third.

In addition to the apprenticeship, Ryan has been exposed to all aspects of the Timberpak business, including, commercial and marketing activities, quality and traffic control, operating mobile plants, and performing all weighbridge duties.

Ryan McKenna is the first Waste Resource Operative Apprentice Timberpak recruited, and due to his success, Timberpak has offered Ryan a permanent full-time contract to start as an Operator in Training in August 2023.

David Race, Timberpak Washington’s Site Supervisor, says; "It has been great to see Ryan develop over the last 18 months. He has progressed well and worked hard to successfully complete his apprenticeship. Well done Ryan."

Gavin Ball, UK Sales and Operations Manager at Timberpak adds, "The apprenticeship has proved invaluable as it allowed Ryan to explore and demonstrate different skill sets without being restricted in one particular role. It is important that we develop the next generation of Waste Operatives and offer them the opportunity to become a member of the Timberpak team.
