Every year, the German Design Council recognises unique design trends with the international German Design Award. The wood-based material manufacturer EGGER took home several awards at the ceremony on 9th February 2018.

The German Design Council presented the German Design Award 2018 during the Ambiente trade fair. The wood-based material specialist EGGER received recognition for all three of its product divisions: Furniture and Interior Design, Flooring, and Building Products.
“Each of these awards honours our products, our drive for innovation, technical investments, and our focus on trends”, agree Franz-Josef Susewind, Head of Product Management EGGER Decorative Products, Michael Gerbl, Head of Marketing and Product Management EGGER Flooring Products, and Carsten Ritterbach, Head of Marketing and Sales EGGER Building Products, at the award ceremony.

Exceptional look, feel, surface quality and processing

EGGER is “Winner” in the category “Materials and Surfaces” for the decor variety of PerfectSense. The special gloss and matt surfaces of the product category PerfectSense impressed the expert jury with their premium feel and aesthetic properties.
In the flooring segment, two decors from the EGGER Design Flooring Collection were recognised by the jury as “Winner” in the category “Building & Elements”. The design flooring in the stone decor Slate black and the wood decor Oak handscraped convinced the jury with their authentic finish and the special surface that ensures lasting beauty.
The EGGER Ergo Board from the product range of the EGGER Building Products received “Special Mention” at the ceremony in Frankfurt. The international jury justified its decision with the observation that the solid, edge-profiled construction board made of formaldehyde-free glued wood is easily and quickly processed.
