The trend towards open living spaces, where the kitchen is integrated into the living room or even connected to the entrance hall, is reforming furnishing, especially in smaller homes. The absence of walls provides versatile possibilities for interior design, while quickly switching the positions of the sofa and dining table creates a new impression.
The flooring also has a significant effect on the room atmosphere. With colour-consistent floor design, the room has the appearance of a single entity and can therefore seem even more spacious than it is.
In an open kitchen diner the flooring should be tough and easy to clean, as it has to endure quite a lot: Cooking, eating, playing with the kids on the floor and occasional parties all take place here. A carpeted floor may be cosy, but the hygienic aspects don’t really speak in its favour. A stone floor is certainly easier to clean, but cold.
The ease and warm radiance of wooden floors are real plus points.
