Innovative Clic furniture components for one of the most modern university hospitals in Europe

Kiel and Lübeck (DE)

The "hospitals of the future" in Kiel and Lübeck were equipped with over 30,000 m2 of EGGER furniture components with Clic connection.
With the opening of the two new UKSH buildings at the Kiel and Lübeck sites, a new era of university medicine has begun in Schleswig-Holstein. It took only four years for one of the largest hospital projects in Europe to be built and for the vision of the interdisciplinary and digitalised hospital to be realised. With a view to providing patients with state-of-the-art medical care in a feel-good atmosphere, both campuses of UKSH were comprehensively modernised and expanded. For the interior design, UKSH opted for durable and sustainable materials in natural colours. The bright patient and functional cabinets, whose bodies consist of more than 30,000 m2 of white furniture components with Clic technology, support the pleasant atmosphere.

The full-range supplier Scheschy (Upper Austria) provided the entire interior furnishings for this major project. In order to be able to effectively implement the production and assembly of the approximately 3,000 cabinets in the shortest possible time, Scheschy decided to purchase EGGER furniture components with the modern Clic connection. The body parts were delivered on pallets directly to the construction site and assembled on site without tools, quickly and easily. The added value lies in the speed of the tool-free assembly on site and in the reduced transport costs. There is no need to transport pre-assembled, bulky body elements. This saves transport costs and has a positive effect on the CO2 balance.
