Revenue development

The revenue of the EGGER Group increased significantly in the 2018/2019 business year to a total of EUR 2.84 billion (2017/18: EUR 2.68 billion), an increase of 5.6%. EGGER has therefore set a new revenue record in the company's 50 year history.


The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes and amortisation) was 425.0 million EUR in the business year 2018/19, higher by -20.8 billion EUR (-4.7 %) as compared to the previous year’s 445.8 million EUR. The EBITDA margin decreased slightly to 15.0 %.

Total Investments

In the 2018/19 business year, EGGER made growth and maintenance investments of EUR 489.1 million (previous year: EUR 483.3 million). Investments include the acquisition of a plant in Concordia, Argentina, the start of production at the new plant in Biskupiec, Poland and the construction of the new plant in Lexington, US. In addition to these large investments, important ones were also made in the existing plants, in particular upgrading and logistics investments in Brilon (DE) and St. Johann (AT), as well as in the expansion of the plant in Wismar (DE), which received a new flooring facility.

Equity Ratio

Equity (including investment grants) decreased during the financial year 2018/19 by 3 % to 1,146.7 EUR (30.04.2017: 1,066.4 million EUR). The equity ratio is 36.8 % (compared to 40.8 % on 30.4.2017), considering subventions collected.

Employee development

The average number of employees over the year was 9,481 (previous year: 8,765).

The increase in the number of employees is due to investments in existing plants as well as the expansion of new plants.
