EGGER team scale the heights for good causes
Ten EGGER employees have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for two local charities.
To successfully complete the challenge the intrepid walkers had to climb the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours.
Dan McPherson, EGGER Mechanical Fitter and EGGER challenge organiser said: “After completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 2016, I really wanted to raise the bar with this year’s fund-raising event.
“Even though the weather was truly awful we all finished, drenched and happy, in just over 23 hours. It was a brilliant achievement by the team and enabled us to raise over £3,300. A massive thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported us.”
Bob Livesey, Commercial Director at EGGER Western European Division, commented: “Our EGGER employees have undertaken a series of fund-raising events to support our official charity Northumbria Blood Bikes. Our target is to raise funds to purchase a new motor bike for them by the end of the year.”
The money the team raised through the Three Peaks event will be divided between Northumbria Blood Bikes and WECAN.
