After being shortlisted in a large category, including other international companies undertaking apprentice and graduate recruitment programmes, the Barony site of EGGER (UK) Limited were delighted to win the Apprentice/Graduate Award at this year’s s1jobs Recruitment Awards 2017.
The award was collected by Heiko Lichtblau, Plant Director Production/Technical; Steven McArthur, Assistant Engineering Manager; and Katrina McEwan, Human Resources Officer at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by Kevin Bridges at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow on Thursday 13th April. Representatives from the Apprentices and Graduates at Barony, Richard Mullen, Apprenticeship Co-ordinator (Barony) and management representatives were also present.
On presenting the award, the host Kevin Bridges said that it was the “feedback from the end user, which set EGGER apart from the rest” and added that “the winner shone through due to its longevity, legacy, succession planning and continuous training.”
Heiko Lichtblau further commented: “we are delighted to see our efforts being recognised in the wider community. Our apprenticeship scheme is the cornerstone of our long term succession planning and secures sustainable places of work for the local younger community.”
This award underlines the hard work and commitment of everyone in the company who is involved in developing and supporting apprentices and graduates.
