EGGER employees run for charity at Hexham Running Festival

EGGER (UK) Limited sponsored this year’s Hexham Running Festival, with employees taking part in both the 10k and half marathon races.

Despite highs of 26 degrees, hundreds took part in the local running event on Sunday 15th July, which offered a 10k and a half marathon route that both started at the iconic Hexham Abbey and ended behind the EGGER factory, which was also the starting point for the 5k race.

The routes offered scenic views through the countryside around Corbridge and Anick, as well as some tougher sections such as Sandhoe Hill. EGGER employees were sponsored by the EGGER Runs scheme that sees the company donate five euros for every kilometer completed towards either its nominated local charity or to the employee’s chosen charity. Some of the charities employees were running for included Mind, Calm and the British Heart Foundation.

The overall festival was raising funds for the Hexham Abbey roof appeal.
