Your path to becoming an apprentice at EGGER


1. Advertising

We advertise our apprenticeships in the local press, schools and on our website (

We also visit local schools and career fairs to talk to students about the apprenticeships we offer. Candidates may also wish to attend our Apprenticeship Open Day (usually held at our Hexham site, during April every year and advertised locally).
This is a great opportunity to meet some of our existing apprentices, training providers and managers. Parents and teachers are welcome to attend this event as well.

The Human Resources Department are always on hand to advise you on the advertising and recruitment schedule.

2. The Selection Process

Candidates for all apprenticeships at EGGER should possess (or have predicted grades) of 5 GSCE’s grade A-C (England) or 4 Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above (Scotland), subjects should include Maths and English; Sciences and Technology based subjects are also beneficial.
Candidates will be shortlisted according to the overall standard of their application as well as their grades or predicted grades.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend an assessment day on site, where they will undertake ability tests.

There is also an opportunity to gain detailed information about the company and our apprenticeship programmes.
The final selection stage will be an interview, which will take place with the appropriate Departmental Manager and a member of the Human Resources team.

3. The Decision

Within one week of the final interview we will communicate the outcome. We will contact you either way and would be pleased to provide you with feedback.

If you are successful in gaining an apprenticeship at EGGER, we will send you a written offer of employment and a starting date.
We will also take up employment / personal references which need to be satisfactory.

There is then nothing to get in the way of your apprenticeship at EGGER.
