After completing secondary school and the Polytechnic Specialisation, I started my apprenticeship for wood and mill technician with EGGER in 1999. During a 3-year training programme, I became familiar with a variety of activities and departments. Upon completing the apprenticeship in 2002, I started as a trainee in the raw chipboard segment. I went through areas such as glueing, press, and shift management. Six years later, I became deputy Production Supervisor in 2008, and the following year I became managing Production Supervisor at EGGER.
My EGGER apprenticeship was incredibly diverse. I worked in various departments – from impregnation to the element plant – which gave me a very good overall understanding of the workflows within the company. I still benefit from these experiences to this day. Due to my diverse activities, during my apprenticeship I always interacted with new people, and was able to greatly develop further.
I am in charge of the production process of our chipboard. This covers quality management, maintenance and repair works, through to personnel planning. In addition, I coordinate the interplay with other production facilities, and, as project leader, I am responsible for building our new auxiliary building. In my work, every day brings something new, it is never boring or monotonous. This is something I value greatly.
As Production Supervisor for EGGER, it is important to take on responsibility, but communication and coordination skills are also necessary. There are three things you need to get far here: heart, brain, and common sense. Of course, enjoying your work is also very important.
What I like the most about my work is that no day is like the other. At the intersection between different facilities and employees, I am often entrusted with unexpected and out-of-ordinary tasks - these activities provide me with great variety.
I had long known EGGER, not only thanks to where I lived in Kössen, but also because my father has already been working for EGGER for a long time. Given that I've been interested in wood since I was a child, the wood and mill technician apprenticeship, which was new at the time, attracted me greatly. Following personal research and discussions, I became interested in EGGER and its products.
One thing that is special about EGGER is its constant orientation towards the future. Promoting innovations and the willingness to keep up with the times are central strategic directions at EGGER. In addition, not only products are developed further, but the development of employees is also always in focus. From quality management training, through family days and numerous social services, and all the way to EGGER health management - EGGER does a lot that makes one feel good here.
I have two children, so I particularly value the family-friendly environment in St. Johann. The sports and free time offer is very large, you are quickly in the middle of nature, and can easily play football, hike, ski, or simply take a walk.
