EGGER products seduce with matching decors for walls and floors
Situated between Lake Geneva and the Alps, the newly built student hall of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva is one of a kind. Both the location and the unusual architecture suggest a home rather than a student hall. The building completes the "la paix" campus, which stretches from the heights of Grand-Saconnex to the edge of Lake Geneva. The hall has two striking features: On the one hand, an abundance of communal spaces, and on the other, the arrangement of the rooms along an ascending path. The simplicity of the interior design corresponds to the simplicity of the building concept.
The interiors are simple and uniform. The architects in charge opted for the H1145 ST10 Natural Bardolino Oak decor from EGGER. It gives the modern exterior a natural contrast with the interior. For a unique spatial impression, the same decor was also used for the flooring throughout the property. The EGGER Design Flooring GreenTec with the EHD001 Oak rough-cut decor is the perfect flooring counterpart to the interior design. This timeless, brown oak decor with its rough sawn features and light white pore creates a modern design. The Classic format with the all-round V-bevel particularly emphasises the natural flooring board character. It thus fits in perfectly with the basic idea of the building concept.
