Excellent design: EGGER receives three German Design Awards 2020

The German Design Council awards the "Winner" prize to the combination of PerfectSense Matt, marble reproductions and Duo Edging as well as two EGGER PRO Comfort floors.

The aim of the German Design Award is to discover, present and award unique design trends. EGGER was once again able to come first at the German Design Award, not once but three times. At the award ceremony in February 2020 in Frankfurt, the successful interplay of PerfectSense Matt, marble reproductions and Duo Edging will be awarded the "Winner” prize, as will the two EGGER PRO Comfort floors: EPC014 Natural Waldeck Oak and EPC018 Tegern Ash.

German Design Award 2020

The German Design Council awards the "Winner" prize to the combination of PerfectSense Matt, marble reproductions and Duo Edging.

The German Design Award is the international top prize of the German Design Council and is one of the most recognised design competitions worldwide. EGGER scored points with its design quality during the nomination process: With F204 ST9 White Carrara Marble and F206 PM and PT Black Pietra Grigia, the wood-based material manufacturer presented two elegant marble reproductions in the competition for the German Design Award 2020. Both decors have an exclusive look and feel thanks to the matt surface of PerfectSense Matt or Topmatt. Two new versions of Duo Edging are the perfect addition for them: The variant F8922 C1 displays a white marble appearance. Its dark veins fit with the popular trend theme Black that is continued in the second half of the edging surface. The dark variant F8924 C1 connects a very natural wood with a black marble reproduction.
EGGER flooring also impressed everyone with its particularly authentic appearance. Two decors from the EGGER PRO Comfort flooring collection won over the German Design Council and will receive the "Winner" prize next February. The wood decor Natural Waldeck Oak (EPC014 Natural Waldeck Oak) in a large format scored well. The digital print process enables a true-to-life reproduction of the woodgrain decor. The neutral grain configuration in combination with dark knots reinforces the real wood character. Thanks to the integrated cork layer, the floor is warm and quiet when walked upon. Made from wood and cork, the flooring is sustainable, environmentally-friendly and perfectly suited for use in the living room and bedroom. This also applies to the wood decor Tegern Ash, which has been awarded the "Winner" prize: EPC018 Tegern Ash looks good with its light natural tones. Typical ash nuances as well as darker tones in the core give the flooring a lively overall look.

"We are delighted to have been selected by the jury of experts and to be among the winners of the German Design Award. This triple award is an excellent confirmation for us and our product designs. 2020 will be an eventful year for us with the market launch of the new EGGER Decorative Collection taking place in February. In addition to the important industry trade fairs EuroShop and HOLZ-HANDWERK in spring, we are particularly looking forward to the German Design Award ceremony in Frankfurt", sums up Frank Thiesmann, Head of Marketing at EGGER in Germany. Last May, EGGER also received special acclaim for the particularly successful interplay of PerfectSense Matt with Duo Edging. This combination won the "Best of the best" award at the interzum award: intelligent material & design 2019.

NOTE: All shown decors are reproductions.
