Kufstein Immobilien GmbH & Co. KEG is planning a superlative sports project on behalf of Kufstein Town Council, named the “Eisarena Kufstein”. In addition to the indoor artificial ice rink the project includes a spectator’s stand, players changing rooms, cafeteria and an ice skates rental service.
The Kufstein Ice Rink in The Tyrol, Austria, due to be completed by the end of Autumn 2005, will increase in size by almost 1,000m2 to 3,600m2. At a cost of 3.4million Euros, the ice rink will measure 30m x 60m and the arena will seat up to 600 spectators, making it an ideal venue for hosting events.
The roof will be constructed with EGGER EUROSTRAND OSB. The roof system – from top to bottom – consists of a 30 mm three-layer OSB board, a timber frame and the bottom side will be planked with OSB in 22 mm. EGGER supplied 3,000 m² of EGGER EUROSTRAND sanded OSB from their plant in Wismar, Germany. The separate strand preparation for the surface and core layer, the specific strand geometry (length up to 150 mm) and a higher degree of orientation of the strands guarantees the necessary technical properties for the project.
In addition to roof construction the specific properties of EUROSTRAND OSB make it the perfect solution for architects and construction engineers.
