Standing still means going backwards: something that EGGER Holzwerkstoffe and its partner HORATEC are always mindful of when planning the next release of the ROOMDESIGNER planning, ordering and presentation software. 2007 will see numerous significant improvements to the package: the European ZOOM collection from EGGER will be integrated, as will REHAU's roller shutter systems and the latest fitting systems from HETTICH and BLUM. ROOMDESIGNER is now also available in English, French and Flemish, with additional print functions, an international database for boards, edgings, accessories and furniture libraries, not to mention new functions for roof overhangs, pitched roof extensions and gable ends.
ROOMDESIGNER was developed by EGGER in collaboration with furniture component partner HORATEC and is already extremely popular with joiners and carpenters: more than 1600 copies have been sold and more than 1000 joiners have already attended training courses to ensure they use the package in the most effective way.
Technically refined
The latest version of ROOMDESIGNER has a wealth of technical refinements: the core technology underlying the software is now twice as fast as before, permitting higher-quality imaging. The quality of the wood reproductions is now even more authentic and allows more realistic arrangements, with so-called mirror and tiling effects now things of the past.
The print functions have also been significantly enhanced and now include 2D line views, complete with dimensions. In addition, the proposed furniture can be listed in the form of a quotation or order template, with dynamic text containing additional information about surfaces, equipment and dimensions added to each item of furniture.
ROOMDESIGNER now with international flavour
In view of the high levels of interest in ROOMDESIGNER just from German-speaking countries, it was decided to add other languages; the package is therefore now also available in English, French and Flemish. As the international database is more flexible, it is better adapted to the specifics of individual countries in terms of design, product range and construction principles, as the databases of boards, edgings, accessories and furniture libraries can now be managed on a market-specific basis.
A new kitchen library specifically for the Swiss market contains the kitchen grid normally used in the country. V-ZUG, the leading Swiss manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom equipment, is included in the library. Another new addition is EGGER's brand new European ZOOM collection. ROOMDESIGNER also provides virtual versions of all decors and textures for all product groups.
Additional functions and product groups
Some functions have been further refined and extended to make ROOMDESIGNER even more useful. For example, gable ends and roof overhangs on pitched roofs can now be taken into account when using the wall function. Also relevant for pitched roofs is the ability to include furniture to fit: irrespective of whether the roof slopes to the left, the right or backwards towards the furniture, all furniture items are linked together and adjusted automatically to allow for the pitch. New accessories, such as bathroom equipment, crockery, steps, stoves, table decorations, etc., also give the plans a much more individual feel.
The number of partners involved with ROOMDESIGNER has also been increased: roller shutter systems from REHAU are now available, initially for wall and stacking cupboards, systems for the office, carcass units and furniture construction will follow. Fitting systems have been updated to include the leading-edge products from the two companies HETTICH and BLUM: The damping mechanism of the cup hinge is now always located directly on the hinge.
