How do you prove that the emission values of formaldehyde have been kept for EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF?
Both products have got the certificate of formaldehyde emission / keeping of E1 limiting values in the course of the continuous external control. The Ü-Zeichen (conformity mark) confirms that the values have been kept in accordance with the E1 classification.
Please note:
There are only regulations for E1/ E2 classification,
E1 £ 8 mg/100 g
E2 > 8 to £ 30 mg/100 g ,
partly only E1 permissible (e.g.: D, A, DK, S)
all other details (E0, FF, F0 etc.) are marketing designations and do not have a universally valid definition .
Are there isocyanate emissions from the PMDI glue with EUROSTRAND® OSB / FORMline® DHF?
After the boards have been pressed and the PMDI glue cured, it is not possible to prove an emission of MDI/MDA anymore (test reports of WKI and ECO institute resp.). Even a so called sawing test did not produce an indication to harmful isocyanate emissions (test report OSB/3 by ECO institute).
Is there a Sirex certificate for EUROSTRAND® OSB?
It is new that wood-based panels produced under pressure and high temperatures are considered as “treated wood”. If necessary, Egger provides you with a manufacturer’s declaration giving the production location, confirming "free of bark and living insects" and including a statement of the plant protection authority Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Is B2 the same as F-30?
Building material class B2 – normal flammability does not indicate anything about the fire resistance class (F30, F60) of a construction. The total structure (dimension of the supporting framework, insulation) is always the relevant criterion for the fire resistance see DIN 4102-4.
Are there EUROSTRAND® OSB or FORMline® DHF boards available with building material class B1 hardly flammable?
You cannot get EGGER EUROSTRAND® OSB and EGGER FORMline® DHF with B1 quality on the market at the moment as there is no sophisticated technology available yet especially for the production of OSB B1.
Is it possible to use EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF boards as weathered façade?EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF as weathered facade are actually not suitable for permanent outdoor exposure (wood-based material class100). The boards are not protected against blue stains and fungal attack. The only possible use is for ancillary purposes - with appropriate coating protection against blue stains and fungal attack (e.g. outside possibly as covering of the roof underside view, carport covering).
It is not allowed at any rate that the board may have a load-bearing function when used outdoors. OSB/3 boards with COELAN PU-High-Solids coating are an exception to this (see Egger/Coelan product information).
Is it possible to use EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF boards as plaster base boards?
EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF are not directly plasterable. It would be possible to attach a combined thermal insulation system (see brochure “Application technology recommendations”) or mineral-bonded wood-based material as a plaster base board, ventilated at rear.
Is it possible to fit EUROSTRAND® OSB boards with ceramic coverings (tiles)?
This is only possible in coordination with the building owner as the floor tiler guideline does not provide for that. Prerequisite is the strict clarification of the ancillary conditions (see “Application technology recommendations”!) as well as consultation with the adhesives’ producer (e.g. PCI)
Is it possible to install EUROSTRAND® OSB boards on top of hot water underfloor heatings?
It is not recommendable to install EUROSTRAND® OSB boards on top of hot water underfloor heatings. Due to the material properties (e.g. better thermal conductivity) one should not use mineral wood-based panels.
Is it possible to use FORMline® DHF boards as bracing panelling?
Yes, one has to consider the ancillary conditions in the building regulations permit Z-9.1-454 (bracing against wind, tilting and buckling as well as additional load-bearing panelling)
Are there any dimensioning tables for oriented preliminary dimensioning of EUROSTRAND® OSB and FORMline® DHF boards?
Yes, you will find tables under www.baudas.com and in the technical information of the product brochures:
EUROSTRAND® OSB:
- load-bearing, bracing wall panelling
- bracing floor sheet
- frame of joists – simply supported beam, constant load
- frame of joists – double span beam, one-sided load
FORMline® DHF
- bracing wall panelling
- recommendation to make roof sheetings
Note: specifications of the possible load in kN/m², 1 kN/ m² = 100 kg/m²
Is it possible to decoratively lacquer EUROSTRAND® OSB boards?
OSB – lacquer coatings are above all possible on sanded surfaces (see brochure “Application technology recommendations"). Egger offers fully lacquered OSB boards with its EUROSTRAND® OSB decorative collection. If unsanded boards are used in special cases, it is necessary to make preliminary tests to evaluate the surface.
