Standards Certifications

Do EGGER products carry a marking ?
Yes, all EGGER products have got the  marking since the beginning of May 2003. EGGER even started to mark its products one year earlier than required by law.  marking means representation of the conformity of products with EU directives for safety and health of the consumers. This is a declaration of the manufacturer that the products correspond with the legal regulations -> conformity certificate. The inspection is made by "Notified Bodys" (e.g. WKI) that the internal control of the plant is made according to the regulations of the construction products directive.
Every construction product for which there is a "harmonised European standard" (hEN) or a guideline for a European technical approval has to be marked.

Are you certified according to ISO 9001:2000 ?
Yes, the EGGER group was the first company of the world wide industry which can furnish a proof of a group certification according to EN ISO 9001:2000. On 22.3.1994 we got the first certification. We have the group certificate since 29.10.2001.

How do you monitor and test your products?
EGGER Eurospan raw chipboards correspond with formaldehyde emission class E1 and are tested and monitored according to perforator method DIN EN 120. They therefore fulfil all requirements of the German Chemikalien-Verbotsverordnung (Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance) (appendix to §1, section 3 of 14.10.1993) and the Austrian formaldehyde ordinance (Official Federal Gazette No. 194 of 10.04.1990).

How do you control the formaldehyde content in your products?
There is a continual internal control made by means of a computer-controlled laboratory system with database support and in addition there is a supervision contract with the Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut (WKI). The test reports are completely available and you can request them at any time.

How high is the PCP and Lindan portion in your products?
The standard value for PCP (pentachlorophenol) is 5 mg/kg. All PCP values determined so far within the course of the regularly carried out internal and external controls clearly fall below the permitted standard values and are therefore within the limits of natural load.

How to you prove that your products do not contain any heavy metals?
Our products are regularly controlled for heavy metals like lead, cadmium, cobalt, mercury etc. by authorised external testing institutes.
