The wholesale foods chain has chosen EGGER EUROSTRAND® OSB for the roof construction of the 200th Spar supermarket in Bad Häring, Austria. It has also chosen EGGER EURODEKOR® laminate F751 Tropica Vanilla for the interior design of the delicatessen counter. This décor will not only be used for the “Jubilee Spar”, but will also underline the corporate design of the whole Spar organization for all supermarkets with the fir tree trademark in the future.
The significance of this is reflected in the size of the wholesale foods group; the 1,397 Spar and Eurospar supermarkets, plus the 56 Interspar and Maximarkt branches, covering a total sales area of more than 900,000m2.
In the past few years this leading Austrian chain, with its headquarters in Salzburg/Austria has established many new markets, for which there has been a range of architectural awards. Now the 200th Spar supermarket in Bad Häring, in Tirol, is joining these ranks. The largely glass constructed, and therefore transparent, sales floor has a roof construction with glue-wood beams in BS11 quality, with visible spruce sides in a span of 17.5m. EUROSTRAND® OSB has been used for the roof construction. Due to its excellent statistical values this wood-based material provides the necessary stiffness for the self-supporting roof. |
