Sophisticated laminate effects accentuate designer fashion

At the Düsseldorf fashion house the experts keep to themselves. When designers and manufacturers unveil the new season’s fashions, every show is a challenge, but it’s not simply about buying and selling; they aim to appeal to the senses and the setting must be perfect: brands and products have to be staged and the shop becomes an experience. These are challenges which the Herford design practice Moysig accepts only too willingly and ambitiously.
The name “Kapalua” is Hawaiian and means “butterfly”. Together with the slogan “Luxury in simplicity”, it stands for a fashion concept that embraces freedom, beauty and variety supremely well. The rapid and uncompromising decision to use laminates as decorative materials was undoubtedly inspired by the versatile ways in which they can be used, as well as by their safety, durability and easy-care properties.
The designers found just what they were looking for in “Fino”, one of Egger’s most successful decors from their “90 + 60 + 90” collection for architecture and craft applications. A sophisticated mother-of-pearl underlay enhances the effect of the “Bronze” colour chosen here and gives the decor a striking three-dimensional effect. The “Woodline” surface texture that was chosen, a deep, heavily brushed surface, effectively and quite deliberately creates a natural wood appearance. |
